Use the AirBox to add video surveillance to moving vehicles and remote locations. The AirBox is easy to install, making it an ideal monitoring device for remote, mobile, and temporary locations. Coupled with a cellular camera, the AirBox is well suited for buses, trains, construction sites, trucks, railcars, and more. Multiple cameras can be networked behind a single AirBox, and the low latency allows real-time monitoring.  Upload speeds average 400-600 kbps for great IP video.

The AirBox & IP Video

Stop using expensive satellite or microwave for standard definition broadcast. The AirBox X2 can be used to transmit IP video at 1-1.2 Mbps. This allows you to achieve the equivalent of standard definition video broadcast over the cellular network.

An IP encoder is needed to stream video over the AirBox X2. An IP encoder takes in an analog or digital video feed and converts it to IP (Internet Protocol). This is generally an Ethernet connection which will connect to the AirBox X2. The IP Encoder will communicate with a decoder on the receiving end. The IP encoder must use either multiple simultaneous TCP streams or more commonly use UDP for transport layer communication. The decoder must be able to accept UDP packets from multiple IP addresses and recombine them into a single stream. Most standard IP cameras use TCP only and will not utilize both uplinks for enhanced quality.
